Business & Nonprofit Online Sales & Telework Relief Fund

The St. Mary’s County Department of Economic Development focuses on multiple strategic areas to build a stronger, more resilient, innovation-driven economy in St. Mary's County, Maryland. This department will evaluate proposals.
St. Mary’s County recognizes that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused economic hardship for many businesses and nonprofits. To provide local relief from this hardship, St. Mary’s County has activated the Online Sales & Telework Relief Fund for businesses amd nonprofits located in St. Mary's County.
The grant program will have a maximum budget of $94,874. The goal is to provide grants to support as many St. Mary's County based businesses and nonproftis as possible.
The Online Sales & Telework Relief Fund gives priority to entities that DID NOT receive a COVID-19 Business Relief Grant or Loan from the Maryland Department of Commerce, or a grant from the Maryland Department of Labor for the purchase of equipment to assist in the expansion of opportunities for telework. In addition, the Relief Fund gives priority to entities that have 20 or less total employees (including part-time employees), excluding the owner.
Grants may be used for any costs incurred to establish or expand online sales and/or telework during COVID (after March 2020).
Businesses and nonprofits must be in good standing with the State of Maryland, St. Mary’s County Department of Land Use and Growth Management, Office of the Treasurer and must demonstrate a need for assistance.
- Completed St. Mary’s County Direct Deposit Form (available in application).
- A signed grant agreement will be required as part of the application to streamline the process. The signed agreement does not guarantee funding (available in application).

- Certificate of Good Standing from the State of Maryland OR proof of ACTIVE status of sole proprietorship from the State of Maryland.
